Fix a broken Premiere install?

I've running 4.01 Premiere OS X and am getting the dreaded file format not supported error when I try to drag in an R3D, after repeatedly running the RED plug-in installer. Had this working before on this system, but suddenly no. How can I make the plug-in actually work? Do I need to delete some preference files or something?
