Ok, now that the members of the red team that aren't working on respinning the boards have some down time, coming up with a cooler looking logo should be discussed around the office water cooler. The current logo is a little lame (just my opinion.) I didn't say anything before, because the logo is not as important as the camera. But since you guys have six months or more untill the camera ships, why not use that time to have a new logo drawn up. The logo looks like it was designed inhouse (maybe by Jim himself, thus no one on the red team would dare say it was a lame logo.) It is time for some outside professional help.
I am not a professional logo designer, so I can't help. But, I like Dwayne Wade's logo. Look at how it is simple and bold. He has a nice T-shirt w/ his logo on it.
How many RED t-shirts have been sold?
I am not worthy to wear a RED t-shirt. I wear only original Penguin shirts. They fit the nerd chic look I am going for. http://www.originalpenguin.com/opg/

Sorry Eugene,
I'd be surprised if many people agree with you on this, and I don't think the logo above is anything special. If someone comes up with some red T shirts however they are going to sell quite a few.

I finally have the distinct opportunity to disagree with someone on a non political RED issue.

I think the RED logos and the RED stickers kick ass. Especially the saw blades.

I do want a t-shirt, or a Snow board, maybe a camera:biggrin:

If I had a big company that needed a logo, I would go to Paul Frank Sunich to design me something. I have a company, but it isn't big enough to even need a logo.

Paul was kicked out of the company that bears his name. He now runs the company linked below. I don't know the guy, but I did buy a Paul Frank T-shirt once. I love his monkey logo.

That design is too complex for me to shave into the side of my head. Something a little simpler would be better.

OK, Paul Frank is gay. If you want nerdy, take a look at the Thunder Cats T-shirt. It might be too gay also, kind of like He-Man.

From a design standpoint, the only thing I see worth mentioning with the Red logo is that it is a touch busy with a few to many details. A logo should be easy to recognize when seen under the most trying circumstances... reproduced smaller than desired, reproduced monochrome, visible for only a couple seconds on in the background on a program seen on standard definition TV, as a tattoo or shaved into a haircut... or a lawn for that matter.

This is a minor quibble and not something that Red need concern themselves with since the logo makes up for this shortcoming by being totally kick ass.

So you don't want a gayish logo. Apple changed their rainbow logo to a blue apple. Google has an image proble too. Each letter is a different color, like a rainbow too. But if you try to make your logo too straight, you are accused of being sexist. Let me know if this is the case in the attempt to degayify the Google logo pictured below.

can you tattoo the red logo onto your head in glorious 4k. I think so

a mono-label-logo works great for nike until they market a 4k shoe cam

After studying it very closely for several minutes I think it may have the same minor problem that the Red logo has... too much fine detail that only plays effectively when show at higher resolution and in full colour.

And while it may work for the homophobic demographic there may be problems when it is pointed out to them that some lesbians may find this to be a aesthetically pleasing logo as well. And then there is the whole "methinks thou doth protest too much" principal at play where they may just be saying that they don't want to get with the gay...

There is just no pleasing everyone now is there.

Hahahahahah

Stop it Clint your killing me! Isn't there some saying about something or other being in the details? I love the RED logo, the only part of it that I see could be improved on is to get rid of that safety chain and replace it with a real loggers skip-tooth one.

Yes. I too have watched the Google logo. (What a pair!! ) Maybe a bit too often. Maybe a bit too long too. Are there more variations on the Google logo? Different girls maybe..? Let's concentrate on that shall we?

Paul frank is for teenage girls and gay men.

I conceide. There is nothing more gay/teenage girl than this watch. Totally the other end of the style spectrum from what RED is about.
