Hi All

I've searched through the forums regarding import duties but was wondering if anyone had more current details of taric codes etc, especially for import into the UK.

There are several posts saying they paid 0% duty but I can't seem to find clairifcation of how this was achieved. Using the taric code 8525801990 gives a duty of 4.9%, which having spoken to customs, they say that if the consignment are all compnents of the camera then they can put a blanket duty of 4.9%. All well and good, but I've seen people on the forum saying that the EVF is 14% amongst others.

I also see that if I apply different taric codes to the cf cards & red drives they come in at 0%

I am also shipping a 2nd hand 18-50 red lens seperately from the US... how would you guys try and apply that code? There is a code that applies to items directly related to the camera 8529909299 which is at 5%

Can anyone who has imported into the UK recently tell me what the actual costs/codes were ?

Finally, do Red post the taric codes on the shipping consignment?

Thanks

Red call it a digital stills camera on the manifest. If you get the whole kit delivered at once all accessories should be sen as part of the whole camera.

When I got mine last September, Fedex, without any prompting from me rated it as zero for import duty.

If you get a different result, argue.

I read in other posts that fedex charge 2.5% "administration" for dealing with duties... did you experience this?

It is likely that my red drives won't be shipped with the main consignment... could I argue the same case? Part of equipment for a digital still camera? And the lens?
