The movie was shot on film because we could not deliver the build that Peter needed on time. As the builds improved, Peter began using the RED ONE for plates. Maybe things would be different if he started shooting today? Who knows...

I have to check the actual dates of the builds, but they started shooting in October of 2007. Maybe pre Build 10 was available then? I'll check. But it was missing features that Peter needed.

After checking... all that was available back then was Build 8. The amount of features added since then is amazing...

I can't remember exactly... but if you look at the feature set of Build 8 and then of Build 16 (or today's build), you can probably put together the list yourself without much difficulty.
