Red is the only color that I see these days. I'm literally seeing Red... Is it just the dream of owning a 4k churning machine at the price of an entrance level luxury sedan or is there a more cynical ploy to keep people in trance, seeing Red?
Can't wait for Friday to find out...

With only a couple more days before Jim's next update, I find it really wierd that having come this far in so little time, Jim and his very ardent team have to still make themselves available on this board, daily, defending, explaining, talking us all through what it is, they are trying to accomplish as it relates to not only the camera, but the very idea behind it, being... creating a reasonably cheap alternative to the High end digital cinema cameras already out there, even though no one currently boasts half the RedOne's specs.
I just hope that one year from now, we will look back to these as the days when one man with a small team of "geeks" took a giant leap (no pun intended) into the unknown, the upshoot being our now being availed the opportunity to prove our long held visions, our dreams of grand film openings, boxoffice successes and returning home to the sweet old RedOne, the same one that started it all.
These are the days where the birth pains of such a humongous endevor as building a 4K digital cinema camera from scratch, might tend to becloud our sense of perspective... we have indeed come far, we should be proud of that. To Jim and the entire team, I say, we're here with you.

I think your going to need a good star in your film, not a Red camera before you see "big boxoffice"
You could go make a film on the HVX with a big star and get way more for your film then shooting a no budget no star film on Red. People care about story and actors.

Just like the camera a big star is not going to cut it! The story, That is what should be at the top of a long list of thing you will need.

Plus being able to glean the message out of a simple message... all of those subtleties adds up to what makes good storytelling, I think.

at the price of an entrance level luxury sedan
Not a chance where I live... maybe if you put on a LCD, and EVF, Add the Premium production pack, the 18-50mm Zoom, four batteries and a charger... and you are approaching the price of a regular sedan... Hey, we have a crazy tax system when it comes to automobiles... Thankfully itīs a lot nicer when it comes to importing a RED ONE ;-)
