I know it's a little early to be getting into specifics like this, but I was just wondering if anyone at RED or from PlasterCITY could comment on the kind of encode times for RED RAY's incredible codec... I assume that it must require a lot of horsepower to do, and I expect that the RED ROCKET will accelerate it a lot, but for those who can't expect the card, what kind of encode times will we get?
Also, will we be able to use, for example, the render queue in After Effects for rendering RED RAY stuff straight out, or will we have to render to an intermediate (DPX or TIFF?) and then use a special application? I'm really hoping for the former, because not only would it be faster and easier, it would massively save on the amount of free space you needed...
