Okay Canon, I paid for this camera 2 months ago and I'm still waiting. What is it with you? If there would be anything from a competition at that pricepoint I would cancel this order immediatly.

Go to Walters Photo and Video in Wales (speak with the owner, Gareth who runs a 3rd generation family business) where mine came from and you shall go fine:

To be fair, the price of it is over 1/4 more for the body. With shipping I would end up with 33% percent more. I'm not sure how Nikon sells their cameras, the better models are ridiculously priced.
Maybe I should have choosen Sony a 900, but I have some Canon glass..

Why didn't you check ebay? I got my D90 over an ebay trader. Brand new, nearly the best price you could find at the time (860€ incl. the small 18-55 kit zoom), it arrived within just a few days. Sure, a little risky, but within the country it should be fairly safe.

Would the Mark II accu and flash card be compatible with a 50D?
I'm thinking about cancelling my order...

Yannick you might try following this guy Mitch from Planet5D (link below). He often gives heads-up tweets when 5D2s are available at various stores. Or you could just contact him and ask for tips. I can't believe you are still waiting. I could have bought thousands of 5D2s by now.

Tom, thanks. Do you happen to know if the accu it comes with is compatible with the 50D or upcoming 60D (release in September.. not so long anymore)?
The store I bought it shipped me the accu two months ago as part order but is not capable to deliver the body, now they refuse to take the accu I won't be able to use back! Goddamnit!

About 3 weeks ago I just walked into our local store (Pictureline) and bought one. They had quite a few on the shelf. Batteries were a bit harder to come by but they did have one extra for me.
My wife is starting a wedding and family photography business. The photos are fantastic, and the video is pretty good so long as I'm not shooting anything that can moiré. Then watch out!

I just bought a 5D Mk II from Hunt's in Kenmore Square in Boston. Manager said they have 20 in stock. $2699 minus a $100 rebate that ends on Sunday. If you need a 5D, Monte Torres is the store manager, and he can be reached at 617.778.2222, or mtorres (at) wbhunt (dot) com. He has done me a couple of favors over the years, so I thought I would pay him back by posting. They ship anywhere. I needed a couple of lenses for a saturday experiment, and left with 5D...
