Hey Guys,
I was wondering... since "Crossing the Line" was sort of a last minute undertaking that was literally brought to NAB just days (hours?) before the show floor opened, what footage was RED going to show for demonstration purposes?
I remember the pictures of "Frankie" shooting the drag racing event. Jarred, it would be great if we could see some stills from that shoot, and any others that would have been used at NAB.
If you can show them, cool, if not, no worries.
thanks,

My guess is that they were always planning on having Peter Jackson do a test shoot, and they would have just shown his test shots. However, he decide to film an entire short. So...no other footage that went un-shown.

I seriously doubt we'll be seeing the drag racing footage anytime soon. I believe they buried it next to Jimmy Hoffa. I'm sure we'll be seeing something soon though. Team Red knows we're waiting patiently drooling for scraps.

A good theory... I'm actually just curious if we might be able to see some stills from the drag race, etc. They probably came out gorgeous.
If not, like I said, no worries...

They could re-size it down to 720p to mask any problems from it being shot on Frankie

I dont think Frankie's images were a problem. From my perspective the milk girls footage looked a lot cleaner than the stills I saw from crossing the line.
The frankie material didnt show any of the grain/noise that was present in some of the shots on the alpha cameras. I suspect they dont want to show any footage from frankie because the electronics have changed so much that the picture would not be representative of what we'll get in production cameras - that could be for better or worse, we dont know yet (and Im hoping they'll be able to match the cleanness of the frankie material). Either way, if it was my camera I wouldnt show footage either if it has unergone a radical internal change.

We decided to NOT ever post footage from Frankie again. It is a test bed that has been replaced by the real thing. I plan to shoot new race footage pretty soon with "Romeo" and will post then...

thanks Brook, I must have missed that one while I was running around in Vegas.
