There is a feature I am gearing up to use, it's the profile feature.
Couple questions about it:
Does the SD card reader on RED ONE work?
In regards to the SAVE profile option, what does this cover?
Does it cover ALL SETTINGS including looks?
Working on a project, and this feature is important.

I tried to experiment with that, but neither profile, nor color info has worked for me.
The application of the profiles sometimes is right, sometimes it "multiplies" with the current settings. You can reset, reboot, then it sometimes works and sometimes not.
I decided not to use it for production work for now and told so our REDmen.
What works ok, is to manually transfer looks from redalert to camera. Takes up to 5 minutes, but you can rely on that at least.
There seem to be an upcoming master/slave feature via usb, and a unification of colorprofile accross camera/redalert/redcine/scratch has been promised. Maybe B19?

Jay, you can save your "look" profiles to an SD card I believe 1GB or less however I had no luck on the 512mb card I had, but the 1GB works great.
Adjust your gain, Contrast settings etc, export your .RLK file. It will automatically export that look to your Memory card. However, it will name your look something like profile.rlk. You will need to take your memory card into your computer and rename the file on the disk manually. Then, when you put the card back into your RED and navigate to the import look menu setting it will display the proper name you gave it.
I did this a lot on my last feature i just wrapped to save the DP's look settings for different scenes. This way, in case of reshoots (and there is always reshoots) we could match our previous look by cycling through our bank of looks we created and saved to the memory card. Also, camera reports come in handy as well so we know all other information that isn't saved to a look file ie. Shutter speed, frame rate, project settings etc.
Don't get confused, you CANNOT import this .rlk file into REDALERT or REDCINE or create a .rlk file from REDALERT or REDCINE to import into the camera. All the look settings are done in camera for in camera preview purposes only.
