So I'm looking to purchase a grip truck. In particular, the Isuzu NPR with diesel engine and a 16' box.
I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what the average engine life is on one?

Isuzu has been making diesels for a long time and they have a reasonably good reputation. With proper maintenance the engine should last over 300,000 miles and has a good chance of making the half million mark.

Alexander,
I have not owned one my self, but between 1989 and 1992 I worked with a young man who raced motorcycles. He would leave on a Friday afternoon and blast down the road to Phoenix or jam up the 101 to Leguna Seca race all weekend and be at work in L.A. on Monday morning. He would have two or three bikes with lots of spare parts and a couple of well stocked roll around toolboxes and what ever else in the back. Anyhow he did not go easy on that truck and it never let him down.

Hi Alexander,
I worked out of an Isuzu Truck used as a very full 3-ton package for a few years. It never failed me. She was way loaded down... but always maintained.
Please refer to Creative cow's new may/june 2007 mag. A Mr. Ken Martini does a fantastic job of detailing how to outfit a grip truck from scratch w/ a small built-in camper. I hope it helps Alexander.

Check out Mercedes too.
They often have good deals (in Canada anyway).
Often REALLY quick delivery if not in stock.
