We looking to have a project (non-Red) graded in Scratch that was originally finished (MB Looks, levels, stabilization, reframing, etc.) in Adobe After Efffects. The film is broken into 8 projects and was originally completed in CS3 with Cineform AVI on Windows.
So my question is, what is the best way to get the projects into Scratch?
We plan to export versions (with and without our initial color grade) of each project as a Cinform AVI and then export an EDL from After Effects to open in Scratch. Is this correct? Can you open an After Effects project (CS3 or CS4) in Scratch?
Many thanks.

Scratch cannot read AVI, nor can it read AE projects. You can export Cineform MOV, or re-wrap the AVI to MOV using the HDLink applet. If AE is capable of writing a well ordered CMX3600 EDL in A-mode, then that can work, too. Scratch also has decent scene detection analyser, so if you don't have an EDL it's not too big a deal.

Actually...
Many AVIs and Quicktimes are quite similar - and you can open up many AVIs in the Quicktime player. Any AVI that will open in QT will also open in SCRATCH. We have not announced this workflow yet because we are still testing it, but...
I have a customer in LA that just finished doing a grade of a complete feature using Cineform AVIs loaded directly in SCRATCH. ; )
(Edgar - btw - I got your email - just waaaaay behind)
