View Full Version : 1 of 15 R3D-filers is corrupt

Since I have had no problems up to now I dared to record a very long sync without stopping the camera. The shoot made 15 R3D-files in a row on a drive. When trying to backup the drive to a disk image with the Mac disk tool it freezes. An investigation starts and reveals the fact that the second R3D-file is corrupt. This paralyzes the whole take. I have not managed to extract any image from the take. RedAlert produces a file that cannot be opened. When connecting the drive to the camera the take freezes as well.
Is there a way to fix the second R3D-file so I can use the footage?

Thanks

I cannot even copy the corrupt file... or do you mean the whole drive?

I meant the file, but yes if you cant copy it...send them the whole drive. They would be the most qualified to try and restore the file. call them first though.

If someone from the Red-team has any useful info in this matter it would be appreciated. I have sent a message to support but no yet recieved any answer. Maybe they are busy...

Can you open the file in RedAlert! ??

Find the corrupt frame and export every other frame from the clip as 4k tif or similar uncompressed format.
I had a clip like this once, I rendered out every frame but the corrupted one/ I now have all the footage minus 1 otherwise unusable frame.

I'll try that.
Do you think it is just one single frame that is corrupt?

Thanks
