Here in Canada, Visa will protect you upto a year. Just call them, that's if you paid by Visa.

Good idea, thanks. Has anyone received a monitor recently or heard from him?

Sorry to hear about that. We bought two last year from him at NAB with no problems.

I understand he is partner in a working production company. Has anyone approached his company about this behavior? Or at least asked them the courtesy of having Louis respond.

Still haven't received ours.

A little birdie gave me this link, but the number is disconnected. Awesome.

You know, this monitor was enthusiastically presented and promoted by this community (I think Finner did a video review). I do not think Luis is a thief, I think he is probably over extended, but I do think he owes those people who gave money to him in good faith an explanation and preferably a monitor.

If anyone knows Luis personally, I think it would be doing everybody a favor for that person to contact Luis and try to get him to return the emails from the people who have paid him and just be honest. If he is behind, tell us when he can deliver. If he can't deliver. Tell us. If he can't return the money, tell us. Lets just get it on the level.

Utterly agreed Rob - we have one of Luis monitors, which is great, plus a second on, uh, "backorder".

The only thing I'm unhappy about in the end is the total lack of comms - we can wait for our second monitor (thank god!), but at the moment my worry is the cash has gone into a black hole. I'm pretty sure it hasn't, Luis seems like a good guy, but the worry starts to creep up as time keeps marching on...

Come on Luis, just speak to us man!

Cheers,
Dom.

I want to sell mine. It`s in perfect condition because I just used it twice with my 35mm Adapter before I received the Red One. Offers are welcome.

Greetings from Frankfurt

Well, the other issue about these monitors, beloved though they seem to be, is service. If he can't get them out the door, and he can't respond to emails, how will he respond when one goes down? All I want's an email, a phone call, or a monitor...

We're using the newer version of the LCD-controller in our monitors. So if your carrion goes down, we might be able to help, since we know were to get most of the spare parts for the carrion:)

Actually, an advantage is that they use very standard off-the-shelf parts. We had a problem with the board in ours and got it fixed easily without contacting Luis.

I´m no electrical engineer, by the way!

Still would like our new monitor though...

Cheers,
Dom.

just like any other repair - since now-a-days you replace the entire board that is causing the problem, you don't waste a lot of time localizing the broken electronic component. The carrion has 4 boards and the panel in it. But with shipping cost and if the main board goes down, cost will quickly be 600-800.- USD:crying:

Not wanting to cause any panic here, but you should know, that the driver board is laid out for 12V +- 5%. So mathematically you should not but more than 12.6V on your system. My carrion did not have any voltage control and went down after 6 months - never got it repaired, since we're now building our own monitors.

I paid the monitor in January. He wrote me an email confirmation and then nothing else.
In dvxusers.com is the same problem.
Luis will make a nice holiday this year....
