Night vision and/or thermal imaging with RED

Does anyone have experience with night vision and/or thermal cinematography on the red one? I'm not speaking from an educated position on this subject but perhaps there is some sort of "PL" mount ambient light amplifier or something like that?

Thanks Ryan. Very informative but I'm looking more for amplified light and/or thermal imaging solutions. IR is different and I'm guessing that a thermal solution will require a dedicated image sensor that might have to be cooled to a particular ambient temp.

So far the best best I've found online would be to put a canon mount on the RED and to use one of these
