Sorry in advance if this has been addressed already (I tried a search for "EVF," but I guess it's too short a keyword). From all accounts, the RED viewfinder is going to be incredible. I'm just hoping we'll be able to use it with other cameras. Does it connect with a standard cable, or some proprietary doo-dad?

I think it's a proprietary doo-dad.
What I want to know is also related-
Can use the RED LCD with other cameras?
And can we use another LCD with the RED?

I'm not certain, but I think I heard somewhere that both the EVF and the LCD connect to the camera via a HDMI cable. I could be wrong, though...
EDIT: Yep, I was confuddled. The connectors are proprietary.

What is the resolution of the EVF and the LCD? I tried a search and either got nothing or way too much and could not find these answers.

Both the EVF and LCD connect to the camera via a custom LEMO cable. The video signal is DVI based, but there's other information passing on the cable, as the EVF has control buttons on it.
Both the EVF and LCD are proprietary to RED... You can use other LCD monitors and EVF systems with RED, as long as they can be connected to the SDI outputs.
The pixel resolutions of the EVF and LCD are 1280x848 and 1024x600. As stated in this thread (http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?p=42063#post42063) by Stuart English.

the hdmi output also supports 720p monitoring too, right? a good cheap monitoring solution.

Yep, that one too... Just forgot to type that in there. Excellent for a cheap setup with the cost of HDMI/DVI LCDs getting so low.

Remember, there are also three HD-SDI outputs [a 720p single-link "preview" output that shows what's on the EVF with frame lines, the menu, etc, as well as two single-link/one dual-link 1080p HD-SDI clean output].

There will be a manual that covers all this, won't there? Is it being written now? Will it be outsourced to China or Taiwan? Will RedUser.net be our manual? I have so many qvestions!

They've said that there will be a manual. I believe it'll also be available online for those who don't have their camera yet.
