I promised I 'd share the raw footage, so here it is, in side by side comparison format. Lots of radical changes can happen during color correction.....:whistling:

Nice comparison; that key looks amazing. Even with the small weaving of the cup it looks natural at this resolution. How does the full 1540 image look?

You know, I honestly can't say too much, as I only shoot at 10 bit which is a little greater than 720p. I have upresed other peoples 1540 images to 2k and they actually look better than HVX at that resolution, so that should give you an idea. I'm really after bit depth and sheer quality of information though, so I axe the extra 0.5k in order to have the greatest range and color.

Ok, time for some technical details....
1.) This is my first green screen footage, ever.
2.) My green screen wasn't really a green screen, it was cheap wrinkled green colored felt I had laying around.
3.) My distance between screen and subject was a little over 6 feet.
4.) I shot 10 bit and rendered out to 16 bit Tiff image sequence.
5.) All keying was done in After Effects 7.0 using Keylight.
6.) Color correction was done in After Effects 7.0
7.) The background plate is actually a still photo shot with a Nikon D70 with grain added to match the Andromeda footage.
Thats about it really, without getting into the meter readings and what not.

Very impressive. I never would have thought it was a green screen background.

LOL Thanks, thats what I was hoping for :)
I have to admit, it was a sneaky test I cooked up a few days ago. I had to know if I could pull it off, because I'm gearing up to market the camera in the DC / Baltimore area as a very cost effective tool for visual effects work, in addition to all the usual music videos and films being made in the area.
