I just bought a Tempo SATA E2P PCI card for my Mac Pro (Nehalem) 8 core just to realize that it is not compatible with my machine.

Can someone recommend a good SATA host controller for the new Mac Pros? I just need 2 ports since my Firmtek bay is 2 ports.

Thanks

That's the company I bought the card from. It doesn't work in the new Mac Pros. Looking for a solution..

Thanks Nate

But I just bought the E2P card and it DOES NOT work in the new Mac Pros.

I need a card just like it that will work in the new Mac Pros.

Any recommendations?

Card looks cool and has some nice specs. Might be picking one up as I need a 4 port eSATA in my Mac Pro.

Just following up. Received the Lycom esata card 2 port. $50. Works great in the new mac pros.

I have this card, works perfect. It came included with my S2VR eSATA RAID, but I think the card sells for around $90. The 2-port version of the card (I haven't tried it) sells for about $60.

Seriously guys, everyone with a Mac Pro tower should already have 2 esata ports.

Look:

$25, works great. Every tower gets these as soon as we build them. No reason not to have them. Only problem is they arent hot-swappable, but for $25, apple should make this come standard.

Not hot-swappable is a big issue, IMO. Good way to fry your system if you're not careful about that little hot-swappable issue.

Also the 2009 Nehalem Mac Pros and even some later 2008 models are using the ODD SATA header for optical drives. So this doesn't help in that situation.
