Does anybody know more about this spot? Fincher shot an Nike commercial on Red before, so this one could be shot on Red, too.

What exactly makes this look like it was shot on Red? I hope its not cause it "Looks cool" or something. Could be super 35 it could even be f23.

I was on the job....it is not an EVF, it looks like one, but it is not, it is the viewfinder for the periscope camera (which is real).

the dirty little secret on this job is that it almost went red...we tested for it and david was reported to have liked the images from the red best...but alas it went to another system. i was able to dig into my former life as a digital cinema projectionist and provide some projection services to the spot...

as always it was amazing working with david, he is truly a genius.

as for the blog quoted above, from what i have heard, david if fully in charge, would have cut the spot differently....

dont most of you know that the director of commercials typically does not "cut" the spot, it is the agency producers and copywriters that sit in the edit bay and make the choices..the director executes on the boards he is given, and for the most part is out of the equation and it is up to the agency and client to take from the footage and make the spot...and this one had a very very short turnaround time...i just got paid today and not even the kit rental part.
