F.F.Coppola, G.Lucas, S. Spielberg

Still is just a rumor.

If F.F.Coppola would take RED for his next film project "Tetro"
that he will produce and direct in Argentina.
The film follows the rivalries of an artistic Italian immigrant family.
Matt Dillon is already casted and the rumors said that Javier Bardem will join the cast too.

By the way Coppola was always talking digital but he never did it.
Also if Coppola would have invite Storaro again and if they would shoot
with RED that collaboration using 4K digital could make the strongest future impact on
a whole film industry, Hollywood and beyond.
That could be absolutely fantastic.

Again it is just about calculations and rumors...

Storaro is a Dalsa fanatic, it'd be a hard sale.

Alexander,

doesn't mean anything.

David Stump recently tested RED and Dalsa.
Storaro was talking Dalsa before but doesn't mean that he would use it.
Easy to shoot with, operability, advanced workflow and low price are the main RED advantages towards Dalsa.

Coppola's new movie "Youth Without Youth" was shot with an F950. It will be released in December.

Our God Thy Father, Walter Murch, is the cutter.

Great, Coppola finally did it digital. With RED would be the next project. Walter Murch is a main FCP guy anyway. RED is around the corner.

Agreed that RED has many, many advantages, here's to the future!

I am reading the "Conversations with Walter Murch" book right now, and I must say he is god-like.

If Murch is God-like then "In the Blink of an Eye" is biblesque.

Those OLED keyboards are pretty slick. I can't believe that people are paying that much for them. I also can't believe that a mainstream company here in the USA isn't offering them or something similar yet at a decent price. Manufacture cost on them is only about $180 each in lots of $1K. Maybe I should order a few crates of them with my logo stamped on them and resell for $500 each. I'd have to make some modifications though... Like larger OLED displays on the spacebar and a few of the other buttons. The spacebar doesn't need to be that fat either.

Like any director, Francis will choose what format suits the story. What he and Walter seemed to love about HD was that in post they had the freedom to change shots. For example they had an over the shoulder in Youth Without Youth that they wanted to have be more closeup on the person and they zoomed the shot in and were happy with the results. They said they expect to do more of this. With Red's resolution, this should extend their capabilities.

Closer "mouse" is ShuttlePRO that should be also considered as a mouse(advanced), behind is Wacom mouse that is a part of Wacom Intuos2 A3 tablet (below wrapped in a black dust protection cloth), more up and almost blurred is Eye-One Display2 Pantone calibration device, some other devices are also wrapped in the protection cloths, then on the back you can see Apple Cinema Displays 23" and 30". More about the new studio photo and set up later after the summer vacation.

If you do that, count me in for two!
