I recently came into a Cache of Older Minolta Lens, that seem to be pretty darn nice. (Some Wide Angles, Some Telephotos, some Zooms, all across the board)
They are from the XG-1 series, and utilize the Minolta MD Bayonet Mount (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minolta_MD_mount).
Anyone know of an adapters for these mounts? I'd like to use them on a 35mm Adapter i'm buying.
Also, probably a silly question since they probably aren't fast enough for the Red, but how do you think they'd work on it, and does anyone know of how i'd go about adapting them if I wanted to try?
Thanks everybody. :)

I've heard of no Minolta MD mount adapters for the RED.
Part of the problem, as is also the case with the Canon FD mount, may be that the MD mount has a rather short flange focal distance of 43.5mm (Canon FD is even shorter).
The Minolta primes are optically very good across the board, and you can find fast F2 versions of most of those primes if you look hard enough and are willing to spend the $$. Unlike the Nikons, they focus in the "right" direction. Perhaps the Scarlet may be able to support a Minolta MD and Canon FD mount with its new interchangeable mount system, but it would probably be a third party custom made mount.

Yeah. It would be great! I own 12 minolta md / mc lenses. I started using them on my Minolta XE-1 (which I still use) and then with the Redrock Micro adapter on the DVX100A and the HVX200. Now I've even found a mount for the Canon 5D Mark II.
I even have some super fast lenses like my favorite 50mm F1.2. There's a 58 F1.2, and 85 F1.7 and a 35mm F1.8

You can get MD to C mount adapters pretty cheap. That might be one option fpr Scarlet. Don't know how much the C mount would vignette the lenses though.

A Minolta mount would give you access to Carl Zeiss lenses made for the Sony Alpha DSLR. This includes a Carl Zeiss 85mm f1.4 lens in Minolta AF mount.
There is a nice compendium of lenses, current & discontinued, at:

Which adapter? Some of them come with a variety of lens mounts. A friend has a Brevis with a Minolta mount (I believe).

I believe there's a Nikon to MD mount adapter available on eBay for about $40 or so. I have some MD glass that I was interested in using as well.
Edit: Here's a link to one not on eBay, but only $35. Not sure what the quality would be, but it would be great if someone could test it:

That's great guys, thanks.
If I got a Nikon adapter for the Red, then put the Nikon to MD adapter on top of that, would that possibly cause distortions?
