I have a three camera shoot coming up and have a couple of questions. When was the Master - Slave mode introduced, B20 or earlier?
Can I chain 3 cameras?

Build 17 if memory serves. I've never tried three cameras ... should work.

I think someone from Red said here in the forum that for now it's only working across two cameras. But I imagine that one day daisy chaining will probably work.

I think Paul's right - essentially there's no Master/Slave mode, so a particular camera either needs to be Master or Slave, hence only two cameras can link at any one time.
That said, I wonder if splitting the cable and having two Slaves running off the same Master camera will work? Is there feedback to the Master camera to acknowledge that the Slave has received and/or executed the instructions, or is it a dumb link?
Thanks for the info. The shoot is now two camera so I'll give it a go.

I'm not aware of any USB splitter cables, though I guess you could make one by manually splicing two together.
I imagine though that being USB, there's two way communication going on as they need to be connected and rebooted together to establish the connection, so there'd have to be some sort of handshake going on which would doubtless get screwed up if two cameras reported themselves as slaves at the same time....

First available in Build 17.
It might work for 3 ( try it) but it was only intended for two cameras, i.e stereo record applications.
Shoot has gone back to 3 cameras so I'll try it tomorrow.
It seems to work with 3 :)

Stuart - is/will timecode be synchable via USB?
