I have a need to shoot a flashback scene that will be done after a location is refurbished, which will take a few months. I'd like to match the camera and talent positions as closely as possible. Is there any method to put a clip back onto a CF card or Red Drive and toggle between the clip and the live image? Any other feature that may help in this regard?
Thanks,
Bob

If you have not already shot, make sure to measure and record your tripod location, head height, and overall setup placements, and take a couple pics of the setup to remind you later... But once the footage is shot, select your desired "match" frame, and print it out on a sheet of "overhead projector" type acetate to fit your preview monitor/camera LCD. The acetate generally prints pretty see through, so you can leave it attached as you matchup the new and old shots... and align to the ghost image overlay. Works quite nicely! Many professional monitors also allow you to load a buffer frame into memory so that you can toggle between your live shot and the buiffer frame shot as well, but the acetate trick works no matter what your budget is...

We tried it and found out that you can "reload" a shot back to a memorycard, as long as the card has been formatted in the same camera (same serial#, same build) that was used for the original shot.
