Jarred Land

Had a mild heart attack last night.. I was able to restore all the threads but lost our o-so pretty look and most of your lovely little avatars... so go pick some new ones.
Also you might want to clear your cookies if your login is getting forgetful :)
Will try and fix all the bits when after I get a few hours of sleep :)

I truly hope there is special place in hell for spammers, script kiddies, hackers, and virus writers.
I've spent a lot of time managing such issues in my former career, and I know just how hard the sysadmins work to get things back up and running.
Your community thanks you,
Steve

There's quite a bit of stuff missing.
Biggest thing I see gone is all the RED workflow section threads... Are they still around? That whole section is just gone. Had all the threads on LTO tape options and other things. Hopefully it's a temporary loss.
I'm glad it's mostly all here though.

OK, it's an enigma... The entire RED workflow section has changed. It was a forum area with its own threads. And all the sub-forums like Apple workflow, Adobe Workflow, etc.. were the level below. Now RED Workflow is just a site section and does not contain any threads of its own.
It does look like all the threads are still here, it's just a site organizational glitch. Because I can find them by searching, but can not access them directly. Here's one of the threads in question.

I'm not that up on how vBulletin works, but I'm guessing that the RED Workflow section needs to be changed from a site section to an actual forum in the settings.

Jeff. Check the Red One Camera section now, and all should be as expected as far as workflow is concerned.

The only request would be to have the word "sticky" in a different color, so we can quickly skip past.

I find that this occurs with Safari specifically. I don't seem to have issue with Firefox or Camino.

its a cookie thing.. i changed the cookie last night and it take a bit of time for them to expire, you can clear all the reduser cookies from your browser and it should correct itself in half a day or so.. I apologize for the errors.

At login, if I check the box to always remember me or whatever, I stay logged-in forever. Even with Safari or any other browser I've tried. Without checking that, you will be signed out as soon as your session cookie expires and that expiration period depends on both what this site allows and your own security/cookie settings.

Can't imagine what a pain in the a.. this is for you so good luck getting it sorted out.
FYI The Underwater Bubble Blowin' Users Group went from thread number t=562 to now it is t=552 and gives this message when you try to reply to the thread:
"Sorry! This forum is not accepting new posts."

Jeff,
For some reason, checking that box is still a no go for me. I have 'always accept cookies' checked in my Safari preferences as well, but I still need to add my credentials when I load the page.
I have no idea why.

Sounds like a cookie issue somewhere. I would clear your cookies, then clear the cache, exit safari and try again. If it still doesn't work, then you probably have a setting somewhere holding you up. Do you have Private Browsing enabled? That will usually do it since it will only allow direct session cookies.

Will our subscribed threads be coming back? I had a huge amount of subscribed threads, it was like my un-official Red handbook.
Jarred I know you are a passionate and commited Red employee and it shows, thanks for getting it back online.

I notice user numbers have changed. I used to have a bookmark to see Jim's most recent posts, but it didn't work with the restored site. The new bookmark for Jim's postings is below (used to be ...&u=9)

Is it me or did all the file attachments get lost too?
Jarred Land
06-19-2009, 03:13 AM
File attachments are moving to a new attachment system... dont worry i still have those all backed up safely :)
External RSS feeds are all going to need to change the forum number to what is appropriate to pull from the correct forum...
