We also have in-house partners (SUBVOYANT) that do LIGHTWORKS, REALFLOW & PF TRACK - so those resources are readily available to our clients - "down the hall".
Also - OFFHOLLYWOOD SOUTH - our partnership with DIGITAL FX, INC. (http://www.digitalfx.tv/) in Louisiana is a full VFX house with Flame, Smoke, Boujou, XSI, Nuke, etc. etc.
We are also currently shopping a full-time, staff NUKE/MONET artist for the types of effects that happen in almost every feature DI.
And I have a strong appreciation for ... good code - and Houdini 10 has got some for sure.

Mark you following my tweets again. JK
I do have to say Houdini 9 was good 9.5 was better and 10 is a huge jump.
Some concerns I have is the slow old Cloth Solver (youd be better to use Maya Cloth )
It is procedural and they pride themselves in no history which can get messy when handing projects around.
On that note 10 lets you jump into any node and edit change on the fly .
The particle and sims engine is awesome.

I think you mean Lightwave, not Lightworks.
Some people here who remember once-popular-but-now-largely-abandoned nonlinear editing systems might get confused.:sarcasm:

Max 2010 also just got a ton of new stuff including tearing.
Lightwave Core is looking interesting.
XSI released ICE.
Obaz Finally released PFlow Box#2 http://www.orbaz.com/products/particleflow/box2/Box2ProDemoVideo.html
(Lots of super cool GPU accellerated physics stuff they've been working on for years. Including denting and tearing.)
RED releasing REDRocket
And of course Houdini 10.
Everyone is really bringing their A Game this year. It's an embarassment of Riches.
And with Caustic (Caustic.com) promising realtime raytracing by year's end and Nuke 6 coming later this year it is just going to keep getting better.
