I'm having a hard time finding interviews, articles, and other resources on his cinematography. I'm particularly interested in his more naturalistic work - for instance "Kes" and "The Boxer". I've done lots of Googles and searched the ASC Magazine online back-issues without much luck. Anyone have any leads?
Thanks,
Adam

If anyone's interested, here a page with some info on the cinematography of The Boxer:

and the same info, abbreviated, directly from the ASC website:

Chris Menges in my opinion is one of those great cinematographers that you never really hear about. Another one that deserves alot more credit. What's most impressive is his ability to create such a wide range of styles depending on the needs of the story. Practically each of his films looks different and beautiful in its own way.

he is excellent DP... he tried directing 88-95 ...
it seems that when DP's switch to Directing and then try to switch back to DP they're not getting the same quality of films they made before they Directed??
