The images in the clipfinder window are different from what I'm seeing in RedAlert since I installed Red Alert Build 20 v20.0.1
I am using material shot on the camera build17. Is that the reason for the difference? Will it match up when I upgrade the camera to build 20?

One of the reasons is because the proxy quicktime files don't support everything that can be changed in RED alert. (If I remember correctly), but one thing that is for sure true is that the quicktime proxies don't change the color space that the camera recorded in. So if you shot REC 709 and then change it to REDSPACE, you're Quicktime proxies will still be in REC 709. I don't know if it's "by design" or a bug, but to me it feels like a bug.

It's also because the SDK hasn't been updated with the new color science, just Redline. So when you render from Clipfinder, your footage will have the new science applied, but until the SDK is updated, both the proxies, and all other software will have the old science look to it.

What I'm doing is just a few minor adjustments in RED Alert then transcoding to Prores 1080 using Redrushes. What I get after the transcode (using the clip RSX) is the same as what I saw after adjustments in Red Alert so that part is OK. I was just wondering if there was something that needed to be changed or updated as far as Clipfinder is concerned so it matches Red Alert or whether it is just a matter of using footage shot with camera build 20.

Oh. Clipfinder will transcode exactly like RedRushes does (if you're using the RedAlert generated RSX or camera metadata). The only thing that won't work is trying to grade in Clipfinder. The images when adjusting the parameters won't look right.
Otherwise, it'll work just like Redrushes - with any footage regardless of camera build.
