drooling with possibilities....

Korg MR-1000 (http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?a_prod_no=MR1000&category_id=3)

$1,199.00 (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Korg-MR1000?sku=700879)

Although it may be tragically discontinued from Musician's Friend, Brian Rath from Support @ Korg USA said "it should be available sometime in the Spring," just like RED.

joy.

Great. More things that I would like to have that I don't know how to use. :)

Anyone here using the MR-1000 for field recording?

Fidelity wise there is nothing to beat it, but how are you finding usage of this device without timecode? Do you find not having timecode on an audio recorder such a big deal?

It's not a big deal as long as you bang sticks (or use some other visual/audible reference, like tapping the mic on camera, or having one of the performers clap their hands). Motion pictures with sync sound were made for about 60 years before there was SMPTE time code on sound recorders, you know.

Indeed! :)

Many thanks.
