The July 11, 2007 edition of "TV Technology" magazine has a note on page 66 that has the headline "Italian Eyeware Firm Acquires Red Camera Parent Company".

I can't find a direct link to the article online. It does go on to say "The joint press release on the sale made no mention of Red One."

If my knowledge is correct, Red is Jim's company and is not directly owned by Oakley. I will be very disappointed if TV Technology screwed this up this bad. It's a free broadcast trade, so is this a bias toward broadcast giants like Thompson or Sony?

Oakley isn't the parent company of Red Digital Cinema Camera Company. They just have the same founder. No more.

Luxottica... I would cry if they did buy them out.

Yeah, I read the articles. Apparently TV Tech did not. Thank you both for setting me straight.
