Is Display port on Quadro 5800 10 bit?

Hi,
Is the display port on Quadro FX5800 10 bit or 8 bit? Can we use this port with LCD monitor such as HP Dreamcolor for film grading?

Has anyone been using this wirkflow then help and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

on google cached pages it comes up as yes - 10bit, but i couldnt find official confirmation;

i'm looking into a similar config. i have an earlier generation mac pro (one prior to the early 09) and looking to purchase HP dreamcolor as well.

now thinking how to get 10bit to it. looks like a video card with 10bit display port is the only way to get there cheap.

any other display port cards that are compatible with earlier than current generation of mac pro?

Are you talking about mac or pc?
MAC dont have 10 bits output at all, missing drivers.

Display Port is true 10 bit. Your output from even RedCine is true 10 bit as Luki said in one of the user forum and its nothing to do with Scratch and Display Port is only 10 bit.

Regarding your primary question, Color Timing with HP Dream Color monitor is not up to the mark. We have tried it for a feature film which is going to be released only in Digital Cinema Exhibition and when we tried to see the final output there are lots of difference in blacks and whites and mid grays. I suggest you go with good CRT monitor or Digital Cinema Projectors to get true representation of color timings.

Sounds like you had problems with the Dreamcolor.

Just so you know, there are several facilities in LA that use the Dreamcolor as a grading monitor and are very happy with it. When calibrated well, it is a good, color-accurate monitor.

is the process of calibration just default with the tool & software the HP Dreamcolor comes with, or is there some particular profile u guys use for it for the RED?

You will need to buy the Eye-One Display 2 that is made specifically for the DreamColor.

It is called the HP DreamColor Advanced Profiling Solution (KZ300AA).

Hi Lucas, Do you know if those facilities after calibration got the HP dreamcolor blacks to reach the 0.01 to 0.05 that I find essential for film out work?
