Cheese Plate

I'm on set with a rented Red One camera and have a cheese plate. But I thought it would snap in to the base plate like the Red dovetail. I was clearly wrong. How do you use it with the baseplate? Surley theres a way? Otherwise how do you mount the rods for the mattebox, etc?

is the cheeseplate on top of your rented camera and what is the purpose you want to use it?

It will bolt to the bottom plate through the top. You have to remove the bottom plate from the RED ONE and there are two flathead bolts you should have in your kit that attach the two pieces together.
