Just got back from the midnight show. Funny movie, but not nearly as funny as Borat. If super gay stuff makes you uncomfortable, you will be squirming in your seat and actually embarrassed to watch parts of this, lol. The shock value is off the charts compared to Borat.
I don't know if he's planning an Ali G movie for the trilogy, but barring that, I think he should move on to new avenues for his comedy. Even Ali G might be tough to pull off at this point, since he's fairly well known.

I love how he tried to coax Ron Paul of all people into a sex tape, man Ron Paul was pissed off when he saw what he had gotten himself into. Lutz was hilarious as well.

Lol Dr Paul looked very out of his element having to deal with Bruno! Poor guy.
The line that cracked me up was when Bruno was out in the woods hunting with those rednecks. Bruno was like, "I hope I don't wake up in the morning with my a-hole violated." And one of the hunters says, "You're not the only one."

There was an Ali G movie, and it didn't do the Ali G shtick.
It destroyed the Ali G character.
Borat swung things back in the right direction nicely.

They must have got run off the camp site after they did the whole walking over to the dudes tent gag, he seemed to turn on the camera crew after that.

I hope Ali G is not dead forever, though. No character has ever made me laugh harder than Ali G with his interviews.

There was an Ali G movie a few years ago but I thought it was straight to DVD.

nah i'm pretty sure he's done with ali g. he's too well known, same reason he won't be doing borat or bruno anymore. the ali g movie did get theatrical distribution and i think it did ok in the uk, but it is pretty lousy. it wouldn't have been released in the states cos no one there knew who ali g was back then. this was, 2001-2ish.
EDIT: and the ali g movie was nothing like borat or bruno. it was all dramatised/scripted, there was no verite (or fake-verite) element to it. and the jokes were lame as.

For sure...gotta love when he asks C Everett Koop "why skeletons are always getting involved in evil stuff?"

Or when he asks Buzz Aldrin if man will ever walk on the Sun...and when the response is that "it's too hot," he follows up with "well how about in the winter?"

There definitely was a train wreck aspect to these interviews that tended to stress me out when viewing them...mostly because I respect many of the people he interviewed...but his ability to work on the fly so well within that character was amazing. I do think that he is definitely way too famous to successfully pull this off anymore.

that'd be great if it turned out to be true. he's an amazing actor, really commits to the character. i think the best comedians always make terrific actors, because the best comedians are really creative with their characterisations.
if he played freddie mercury he'd become him for a time. and the physical similarity goes a long way.
