I have a question, should it technical be possible to use Leica-M lenses in combination with a adapter on the RED one? (example: custom Leica-M to PL adapter)
or is this technical not possible and can you only focus close due the design of the Leica M lens?

It would have to be a dedicated mount, but there is no reason it wouldn't be possible.

The question for the RED Team:

Would you be so kind to make additional Leica M to RED mount?!

M to PL is not physically possible.

I could imagine Leica Noctilux-M 50mm 1:1.

It could be new digital cinema night light shooting revolution!!!???

Once you have your RED in hand, take it to Les Bosher in the UK and I'd bet he'll machine out one Leica M mount right on the spot...lol

Leica M may not work as well as one would hope... the lenses can produce light that hits the imaging plane at very steep angle... remember Leica M has a very small flange-focal plane distance!

this Is true, but the 1.7x crop factor of the Mysterium at 4K should eliminate the problem areas outside the sweetspot.

that would be great if it worked out....

In my memory I have stored (in muddled form) that leica's own digital rangefinder isn't full frame? Also that they did not
include either a hot mirror or a LPF infront of the sensor? This might still mean there are issues...? (Anyone?)

hope not as it's great to have lots of options.. there are also some great leica R lenses...Many of which are often converted to PL??
