Hi all,
Switched to build 20. Shot two days in a row, no problems except that the shutter angle kept changing. The mode was at NORMAL (Not at synchro or relative). Am I doing something wrong? Is the 'Normal' setting correct. This didn't happen before.
The usual apologies 'Sorry if this has been posted before..'
Thanks. Really appreciate any help here.

You need to select "relative" mode - otherwise the shutter will stay at the same speed, therefore the shutter angle changes as you change framerate to keep the same length of exposure.
Selecting degrees simply changes the readout in the EVF/LCD, not the mode of operation...

Are you also shooting Overcrank? The shutter is not automatically adjusted when you change to varispeed. While in 'normal Mode'
In 'relative mode' the shutter is adjusted automatically to compensate according to Frame rate..

I don't need it to change...

I was not in the Varispeed mode. Normal 25fps.

Oh, sorry - that is very odd...
Re-install the firmware is the first step I'd suggest in that case. Haven't heard of this being a problem with B20 (sounds like you've been running a previous build with no problems?).
If that doesn't fix it, then I'd suggest rolling back to B17 and seeing how that fares - if you're still having problems with B17, it might be time to raise a support ticket with Red...
Sorry for the confusion!
Dom.

Will try that. Thanks. Cheers.

Its not something that we have seen before, so can you download the latest version of Build 20 from the RED technical support web site.
And then if this behavior repeats itself send us the camera LOG file?

Will do. Thanks

check all of your assigned buttons on the side of the camera and on the evf if you have one. Upgrading a build resets these (i know that on my camera, button 1 usually ends up being auto color balance when I upgrade the software).
Maybe one of those buttons is reassigned to shutter speed?

Thanks. I checked that. Wasn't the case. Upgraded to latest build 20+. Been using for a few hours. No probs, yet.
