Can I switch from percent to Gb or minutes of remain media with the RED ONE?

Don't think so mate.

Ok...So I assume I have to know the capacity of the media, do the maths from percent to Gb and then do the maths to minutes left....mmmmm
Not an issue when you´re working with the 320Gb HDD, but with small CF cards...
Thank you!

The amount of time on a card will depend on what you're shooting. Shooting a subject with high detail will significantly change your recording time when compared to something with low detail.
After a day or two you should be able to guess very accurately.

Thanks Brook!
I know the compression is VBR, so until I´m used to, I would do the maths on the worst case.
i.e. if I´m asked the remainig in a card by the AD:
(higher bitrate. From an article of Mike Curtis in HD for indies)
4K 16:9 RC 36 = 37.18 MB/S (24 fps)
4K 16:9 RC 28 = 29.78 MB/S (24 fps)
Am I right?
Of course different frame rates modify this.
But it would be really nice to have the remain in minutes...

After some time you will get used to it, I aquired the "feeling" shortly after I got my RED ONE in february last year...
Try from a formatted state and shoot 10/30/60 seconds, and see what that does to the MEDIA percentage, and you´ll get the hang of it shortly (hopefully)
there is limited space in the media column, apart from that, I do concur that it would be a good idea for RED to add a feature in the future that would show remaining time based on your current setting.
best of luck!

For CF cards, at 24/25fps shooting 4K RC36, the rough rule of thumb I use is:
8BG cards - 20% usage per min.
16BG cards - 10% usage per min.
For a 320GB drive you get about 2 mins recording time per percent of media, although I wouldn't run them even close to full, if I were you!
HTH,
Dom.

On a 16GB card, think of the percentage as feet. Is there 90% left? There's 900 feet left.

That's a good system, I like that...
