may we get Film Directors both from HKG and CHINA or later Taiwan in the Greater China to know more about RED to do in 4K Film but no " Film Stocks and TAPES "
RED is Tapeless, and Drives and Ram are going to be most affordable than UNOPEN tape formats, and we have been through the " TAPES WARS "
Hard Drives so far NO War its just about the Storage Size and speed !!!

That is one reason why RED is a logical, cost effective alternative to film or any other inferior tape formats.

I had talked to Wilson Yip and Ann Hui about them and they are very interested.

Cool. Some other hong kong cinema fanatics on this board.
Cineman, Are you part of Wilson Yip's film crew? Just curious. I really enjoyed SPL.
I also wonder if Zhang Yimou has interest in RED.
If he had shot with RED, his film would look as good as these digital stills that were taken during production. Not to say that the flim looked bad...but I can definitely imagine how sweet it would look in digital 4k:

Shes amazing.
With RED's high sensitivity and low noise, that night shot would've looked truly exquisite.

Yes, you 're right that 4K digital cinema camera is good for shooting the CHINESE Palace or Royal THAI Palace and so on...Buddhist temples of great beauty and fascination, magnificent palaces, classical dance extravaganzas, WOW !!!
I will be in Beijing in next month for the FILM and TV trade fair and seminars
( Like NAB in States ) , and I will send my own RED messages to all FILM Directors and DOPs there.
Cheers,

Tonaci,
I had worked with Wilson Yip before and now talking about a new project.
By the way, the photos that you shown are taken in Hengdian, the largest set for period pieces in China, 6 hours drive from Shanghai.

Stewart,
I'm curious to know more about the Film / TV trade fair and seminar that's happening in BJ (i'm guessing...) next month.
Can anyone attend, or is it by invitation only? Can you provide me with more information?
Thanks!
Michael

Hi Patrik,
China can manufacture almost anything at " super-valued " standpoint but Software and Chip set are not in the Leading world standard though.
CHINA has the capability to be the partner to RED for the accessories in the RED ASIA market.
Sony has factories in CHINA for their HD LCD monitors ( Broadcast Standard ) and remembered the old days SONY made PV and VO series of Betacam decks mainly for CHINA and rest of the world at the affordable prices ?

Hey Steward,
Thanks for the link / reply. But I still can't find much info re attendees (rather than presenters). Is it a free admission / walk in exhibition?
I need to be in BJ sometimes towards the end of August, and am thinking of moving my schedule to accomodate this event. Think it will be worth it? Any word on RED being there too?
Cheers, MK
