So the Bayer pattern was invented by Bruce Bayer at Kodak.
That explains why it is biased towards the Green part of the of the picture.

It is interesting just how much of this tech was developed by film companies, and because they didn't embrace it, their inventions are devouring them.
All I can say is, thankgod for patent time limits. It gives the free economy a chance to capitalize on science once the patenter has had a chance to benefit (15 years). Sometimes I disagree with the Lawmakers, but sometimes I love the Law. Intellectual property law is one of the areas of true progress we are going to see over the next 10 years.
Lets pay respect to those scientists and companies that nurtured them and believed in the plight of progress for which now all benefit from. An individual genius can multiply their ingenuity within the reigns of a good company. Kodak is one of them.
I'd Also say pharmaceutical companies such as Bayer (funnily enough) who brought us aspirin, but I know the US is getting a tough time from them due to a poor medical insurance system.
