I know the lens will out-weigh the camera, but it will be a fine day when I marry these soul mates together!

Yes, that should be one great honeymoon.

Hi N,
There is no reason that you can't use that Cooke with the RED or any other camera. A lens of that size and weight has to be supported by a riser block that attaches to the mattebox rods. I believe the ring you see between the pinky and third finger of the right hand is part of that system.

PS.
Although with hands that size you could just hand hold the whole damn thing. lol

N,
We have similar Cooke glass and are looking forward to the marriage as well- should be sweeeeeeeet. Planning on using rails and follow focus from old 35mm package. Little anxious about compatibility with Red, but these are good problems to have!
BTW- nice photoshop job

The hands look rather large because of the wide angle lens on the camera

Oh.
Must be one of those optical perspective distortion thingys. I hate when those happen.

I have a brand new set of Cooke S4's that are lonely, too, awaiting their RED brother. I feel your pain. Until then I guess I'm stuck with an archaic messy photochemical process. ;)
