Hey guys
I know most of you guys already, but believe me, I have a tonne of people calling me up very frequently asking me for contact details of guys who own RED's for rentals and also for DoP's who know how to operate on the RED.

It would be great if you guys can update your contact details here so I can forward the numbers accordingly to people.

On a totally different note, on a recent visit to Lake Forest, I was pleasantly surprised to find many people from India working at RED in their engineering department. Not to forget the famous man - Deanen who's from Goa.

I goto say, considering what a big fan I am of the company, I sure as hell am way happier to know that so many of "my people" are involved in development and in key positions.

BTW: U know if it will be better to buy the HD in the USA or there in India? We are getting 20 TB HD of 1.5 TB each.

Its better to buy HD's in USA since the price of HD in India is higher.

1TB hard drives are well priced in India. Of course, India is a large country and the prices can vary wildly between cities. But on general average, you can buy 1TBs for within $5-10 of US prices.

I am not sure about 1.5TB though. Especially since you are buying a dozen or so, it might end up saving you a couple of hundred dollars. Unless you are on a very low budget, this saving is probably not going to be worth lugging it all from US (this is assuming you are coming straight from the US rather than Colombia. If there are additional shipping costs or duties involved, then effectively the price will be the same if not less). Also, international hard drives have no warranty coverage in India even if your hard drive has international warranty. (At least Seagate, WD, Maxtor and Samsung - they have to be bought from authorized Indian dealers. This was done to curb the rampant sales of smuggled hard drives.)
