I lost my focus chart and need to test out my primes.
Trying to decide between
this http://www.filmtools.com/focus-test-wall-chart.html
the Putora http://www.filmtools.com/pushinty7a9.html
or just the cheapo http://www.filmtools.com/cepropfich.html
Thoughts? Now I'm slanting towards the Putora, I thought I heard Jarred really liked it for some reason

I would go with the first one. It's large and it has the same test patterns in the corners as well as the center. The other tests are more resolution, (the Putora), and backfocus (siemans star).

Great explanation, ordered the first one! It seems i'll need to attach it to some foam core, should be easy (gaff the edges? that way could take down if ever need to)

The Putora I really like above all of them, because you can see a linear range of going in and out of focus at different distances.. each target pops as you get closer and closer. The wall chart is good but its big.. The Putora is great because it still can go on a stand or wall and be effective, but you can also have your talent hold it nice and close to their eyes to check focus, and it can go in a still life table setup mixed with other elements to test multiple aspects ( color etc )
If it is to just test lens resolution and off axis consistency in a controlled studio environment then the 1st one is the one to get then.. but it needs to be perfectly parallel to the camera ( harder to do then you would imagine )

Fate demands I use Putora. Filmtools just let me know that their big wall chart is out of stock, so I called them and had them swap it out for an in-stock putora. Should be here by Tuesday and I'll use that for checking my RPPs. Thanks Jarred!

heh heh funny how that works Shawn. Im sure you will be pretty happy with it. For Focus charts.. it's a hard one to beat.
