Wow, new Spike Jonze film looks brilliant in a number of ways, incl. cinematography. DoP: Lance Acord.

Looking at the trailer, one thing that strikes me is: What lenses did they use?

I've been eagerly awaiting this flick for, what, 6 years now? And when I finally saw the trailer in the spring, it exceeded my expectations. We'll just have to see if the film does the same :) Definitely my most anticipated film of '09.
EDIT: just in case anyone hasn't seen it, make sure to watch trailer 1 over at apple.
This is what f'in film making is.

Maurice Sendak's wonderful book had a huge influence on me when I was a kid. Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings did not kill my imaginations of J.R. Tolkien's book, it actually machted them closely. Hopefully I will say that with Spike Jonze's film as well. The Trailer raises some hope. It looks a bit desaturated and brownish compared to Sendak's world-class colourful drawings. May be that's a non-issue.

Well according to Maurice Sendak, Spike Jonze has exceeded his expectations. Hope I don't hype it to much now.
