We've all seen the pictures of the basic production pack (http://205.234.134.160/forum/showthread.php?t=3269), thank you Jarred. I like that slim lined design. I'm just wondering if there are people out there who plan on using only one handle? Sure, when you shoot you have one hand on the lens most of the time, yet I can't imagine going without a second handle.
Anyways, I recall beautiful Kelly telling us some time ago not to wait till the last minute to order Red accessories. As thing seem to be coming along rather well, I'm becoming confident I should be getting my Red around November. I figured out what I'll be getting to start off with. I do however want a second handle and the 15mm rod adapter. Would it be possible to include these in the options on the Red website please ?
Pricing on the Red Supergrip would be nice too, as that could be the optional second grip ? Actually, I don't think I'll order a second grip until I have the price of that to compare it to, unless a second basic grip is really cheap.
Cheers,
Damien

You use one hand on the follow focus. Or you can take the handle on the top and put it as the second handle. Moooduuulariiityyyy ;)

I think that ordering the cage with the premium production pack might be the answer.
I'd say that if you are ordering the EVF you are most likely going to want the cage. If not then you might get away with the basic and one extra handle, if you are trimming costs.

I wish this was the basic production pack. I like this top handle better, but I think this is a stripped down version of what you would get with the premium pack.

I don't see the need to spend an extra $1'500 for a handle and the 15mm rod adapter. I like the camera stripped down, the cage is nice for extra protection but it makes the camera a lot bulkier and I'll be doing a lot of shoulder shooting.
Why would I want the cage if I'm getting the EVF?

I don't think you can put the top handle as a second grip. In any case I think I would always want the top handle, one needs something to hold the camera for putting on and off your shoulder or on and off a tripod!

It's true. The cage is not necessary for the EVF. I think that you might be able to adjust the EVF better if it is on a rail rather than right on the camera. If you look at post #4 in this thread, you will see that I am with you, stripped down is better.
I think the cage is going to be for larger productions and can always be added later.
We have no clue how much RED is going to charge for individual components so I think it will be the basic production pack with a few extras for most people. I wish the basic pack had the handle from the premium pack though.

If pricing is anything like the battery and charger, then adding components will be the same as buying them all in a package. And if this is the case then the only cost savings to buying a package would be in shipping costs.
