Patience is a virtue because it makes us better people. The definition of the word is to tolerate delay. This implies self control and forbearance as opposed to wanting what we want when we want it. How many times have we jumped the gun and found out it would have been better to tolerate delay or had self control? What did we miss out on? Did we hurt someone we love because of lack of patience? Having patience will heal the wounds and it will work itself out fine. Patience is not only a virtue but a necessity for a happy existence.

See what? We already saw it didn't we? Question should be when can we buy it. And that's when it's ready. Pretty much like everything else worth waiting for in life...

Best to just get on with the work -- even after getting the new toys, it's still about the work. Unless the gear is your work. Then ... you wait.

If you want to see something it should be perfectly working ASICs!

Jim already said we shouldn't even expect a SCHEDULE for another couple of months
http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?p=460003#post460003
So come October we then MIGHT get to know about when it's coming. My personal expectations/guess are cameras in December.
It's good to keep up to date on what Jim posts, so you dont have to ask things that contradict what he recently said

If you have RED ONE now and you would KNOW HOW with it then you don't need something better for a year or even more...
What else?

I did see that post by Jim, but I thought (hoped?) Jarred might have some new info. :ihih:

No Epic until 2010 would suit be just great. With the RPPs and Build 20, Red really does feel like a new camera, it's incredible.

Yeah I could wait until after the first of the year also. I sure hope the FF35 Epic comes out soon after the Epic 5K. Maybe a early Spring release, just in time for some really beautiful shots in 6K.

I´m guessing that the 1st Scarlets reaching customers in january/february and first epics/upgrades reaching customers in november/december 2010. Lots of people wondering, maybe this would be something for a bookie... :thumbup1:

I believe Jim has said the Epic-X will be the first model released, followed by 2/3" and S35 Scarlets. Hopefully by December.
The Monstro sensor models will be next year some time.

It was said that Epic-X would be the first Epic to ship. All indicators seem to say that the first Scarlet to ship will be the S35 model with the 2/3" coming later. I'm thinking we'll see Scarlet S35 ship before Epic-X, but I am of course just guessing.

Jeff, there might be business considerations that would cause it to make more sense for Jim to release Epic X first, then Scarlets later. I don't know, though.
I think people saying that Epic Monstro will be released "next year" might be overly optimistic. That's the camera I'm really needing, but I get the feeling it's still quite a ways away. :(

Hehe, funny this is exactly what I say all the time, as I'm continuously told to be patient, and that things take time, well I don't have time.. and neither do I have Patient :)

I think it might be closer than we all think it is. At least that is what I'm hoping for. But from what I've heard Red is working with a lot of new sensors down at the HQ. So things are moving along.
Go out and shoot some footage on the Red One to pass the time.

The longer they take, the more stable it will be. So, take your time Red.

My guess is that once the DSMC system is shipping, Monstro will follow not too far behind. RED seems to be pretty fast at sensor design. Keep in mind they showed the first images off Mysterium X back in Dec. '08. Jim has said recently that they are just waiting to see how the ASICs turn out before they can announce a ship date. I think once they have the DSMC system solidified it won't take them terribly long to put the Monstro in it. Just my guess though.

I don't know if anyone saw this video, but it was posted early last month. Ted did say it would ship "When the Epic starts to ship, which is targeted in just a next few months"

So let's keep our fingers crossed!

If the new sensor can be offered in large quantities for Red One owners to upgrade in 2009 then I am a VERY happy camper.
If I don't get some of that irresistible Mysterium-X magic by January I will egg Jarred's Green Porsche while he is at work. :aureola:
