Why did Andrews thread get closed down??
Off topic section.. we can talk about whatever we want there.
hence off topic.
explain!!
no reason to freak out over gun topics. we have a Second Amendment,
and there is NOTHING wrong with owning or carrying a gun!

I guess, Zak, that that reduser can be considered as an international forum. There are some countries out there which don't allow to carry a gun. Doing so, or not, seems to be for some a religion. We don't talk about beliefs either, are we? Closing such a thread is a meaningful move, IMO.

I live in Europe and I felt awkward even when shooting (no pun-filming) at a shooting range. I didn't feel that it was necessary that live ammunition is fired at all.
Maybe it's a substantial difference in culture after all :patriot:

I'm trying to get one of the mods to open it back up so people in America can post as most of them were asleep when I posted this.

That's a very thin to try and talk about my instance of self-defense in the same vain as arguing about religion. I shared my story so that others could learn about it and to be reminded that we live in a dangerous world where people will rob you or kill you if they have the chance.
Plus its very relevant to this forum as I was out doing production related work when this all happened. So this is the perfect audience for this story.

Next time I'm out shooting in LA should I hire armed security?

Depending on what are you go to. In all honesty you can get robbed in the good areas just as easily as the bad. The chances of it happening in the bad areas are just a little higher. I had been out to that location a bunch of times before that and no one has ever messed with me. So its all very random when something might happen. You just have to be ready.

Taking pictures of yourself pointing a gun at the camera and using it as your avatar on a CAMERA forum, walking alone at night in SKID ROW with a gun and thousands of dollars of equipment, pulling a gun on some dudes that "looked like mexicans" and THEN BRAGGING ABOUT IT ON RED USER FORUM is what's wrong.
