Hi folks,
I'm actually devlopping and testing a new technic based on modeling light for skin correction and finition. It's highend technic from Photoshop retoucher and now we can use it for motion picture. No more blurred skin!!!
So, I'm looking for 5 to 10 seconds 4K footages of beauty shot to test my workflow and improve the software. You can see a sample below. Thank you!

Nice. I must say when I first looked at the thread I only saw the first shot and thought to myself, "That is why actresses are not fond of the increased resolution". Then I saw the second image and must say it does justice. Good work!

Thank you! I must say It took to me a year of research at part time to find the formula! And now I'm still optimizing the script. The 28K sensors, will blow up all imperfections... But, I think in the near future, I will be the best friend for some actress! Hehehe!

I will offer skin retouching service after testing my workflow in couples months to finance my project. My goal It's to create a renderbox plugin for realtime 4K skin finition. Maybe live broadcast too!

Hi SKIN, you should visit the Real Names thread in the Recon section. We're all supposed to use real names here.
Anyway, what you have posted so far looks good. I'd like to see some more extreme examples. While this one is a good example, the model didn't need that much retouching. I'm curious to see how this works out with moving images too.
You may want to talk to the guys at GlamourKey.

Hi Jeff,
I'm sorry!!! I didn't notice that! And all other forum use nickname...
Yes, I tested on film and it's work, but I don't have the rights to publish! It's not a simple filtering action, but need masking too! The other part, it's tracking the subject and I'm still working on it! There is an other sample what the script can do on extreme situation. But, when you take out to much details, it's look too soft... Anyway, next challenge, it will be pimples... Hehehe!

This second example is really looking good. I can see where it will start to go noticeably soft if you start taking out more details though. Same with retouching by hand to some extent.

Hi,
But you must consider, when it's moving we don't need to retouch so far. It's only a purpose to demonstrate the technic could be very precise on some layer of the skin.

Man, brings me back to my fashion photog days.
Good looking job though, I like how it doesn't make the skin look plastic. I can't stand the Maxim look.

Hi all,
Well! Hope you are still interresting about my project. So we are, I made test and got a very good result.
The link provide 3 files into a one ZIP file (500MB). It's the original one and other with color tracking and other with tracking mask.
The easy way it's use colormasking for selective area to correct, but it's not precise as manual tracking mask. Tracking mask was very painfull to do, but I have a lot of control. By the way It's quite the same result like highend retouch on photoshop and still more faster than retouch by hand one image at time.
The videos are from Jesse Rosten and it's for personnal viewing only! Thank for his help! Looking forward for your feedbacks.
Cheers!

Well I'm sold. Just saw the download and it is very impressive. This will be a boon to the fashion industry. I can see it for the corporate side of things as well, helping the egos of some of the types we tend to shoot. Jarred, this would be a wonderful addition.

Fantastic job, very nicely done, truly remarkable achievement, as I learn more and more Photoshop, I know what goes in to professionally do masking, and this results are beautifully executed, not over done as to reduce the skin to a plastic feel of a manikin.
I also like to go over the board with retouching, but only some times, as well as doing digital oil painting, but this kind of look is what I'm going after and studying and practicing to achieve, so it will be wonderful to be able to have it for our Motion work as well.

Any chance of getting a video sample with your skin smoother in action? Otherwise I may as well just be looking at a photoshopped image..

I'm curious. I'd inspected images very close. It's very nice result, but what am I missing here? Isn't this just a case of a simple key (could be luminance with saturation) with tracked garbage masks just for problem areas and grading applied inside with very little defocus as well? Am I wrong?

I dunno. I think this might be better on women. On this guy it looks like a lot of makeup to me. It's a lot more feminized look. The creases in the cheeks coming off the nose towards the mouth really stood out to me on the finished shot as wrong somehow.
If you took this effect and reduced it by 50% you might have something better for a man.

Hi Jake,
Keying it's not very usefull for small and precise area on compressed format like I'm work on. My technic and script don't need much of tunning, but alot of rendering time on my MBP. At the end It's not cost effective for every project untill my software will run on some GPU render cards. Thank for your interrest.

Hi Joel,
Of course I made some version with less makeup effect, but I pust far as I can to clean up the skin, take out unlike cast shadow, exhausted eyes, etc. It put a little bit makeover for the demonstration, but at the end, my main goal it's to proove we can make something natural and not need to blur texture on the skin. Thank for you comments!

Hi Micheal,
Soon, I will end up with something like a magic potion easy to use. I hope to achieve with highend result like Photoshop's guru does, but for motion picture. But, for now I'm only offer service for skin finishing for commercial project to improve my workflow and get feedback from the market. Be patient. Thank you!

not need to blur texture
I love the "not blurring the texture" part. I'd just like to see an example that really appeared very natural/unprocessed. I'm sure that's a real challenge to achieve.

Hi Skin. I'm not sure I understand. What I'm describing here is just a garden variety keying with the tracked garbage mask. Obviously, keying on highly compressed image is more dodgy, that on uncompressed image, but it still can be done. Would you like to send me the material, so I can try to do it? Or is the image, that I had already downloaded was actually used? BTW, in doing it my way, there practically no render penalty at all:-) Granted, I had never tried to do it this fine skin clean up in grading, as this kind of work much more suited for something with better tracking and roto capabilities, but what the heck...

Did just look like he had lots more makeup on. Interesting with some tweaking perhaps, but somehow made his pores look really noticeable and weird. Work in progress, but fantastic to pull off.

Hi Joel,
Here we are! Of course it's good challenge to get something look like unprocessed. But, I need more powerfull computer for realtime playback and a good monitor to judge my work and fine tune the result for this particular bad shot. But it's not a big deal... I just need time...

Hi Jake,
You are welcome to use the first 10 seconds of this footage to make your own test and show up your talent. I'm glad to see your result and hope you will share with us.

Hi Stephan,
You bring good point and I made some quick ajustments. I reduce pores and bring back some shadow. I'm only creating a tool to assist our vision and the rest depend of thes taste of each other.

There is the an other version.
