Not sure if this has been asked: How long are the reservations good for?

1....til you get your camera __et-al,
2.til you cancel the camera__ et-al,
3.or RED cancels the program,
4.or til life as we know it no longer exists.
Now, three of the four things are possible, you decide! ;-)

Cheers

Andrew

that's not much of an answer, but okay. What does ___ et-al mean?

bluestar, your reservation gives you a spot in line. When your number comes up you are expected to pay for the camera within 30 days. Jim has mentioned some sort of leniency for people who really want their reservation but need a bit more time, but nothing precise has been announced.

Makes sense to me. If your number comes up, you buy the camera and you're done. Or your number comes up and you're not ready to buy the camera and you get your deposit back.

If you're wondering about how long you have to buy your camera when your number does come up, the answer hasn't been completely clarified yet. It probably won't be months, that's probably safe to assume.

EDIT: shawn beat me with a clear answer.

How much clearer do you need it?
1. You paid the balance and got your camera.
2. You cancel the reservation.
3. RED implodes (not an option, example was used as humor)
4. The world evaporates.

I was using humor to explain your options-- you can cancel at anytime, which Jannard himself told you. It goes on til you stop it , they stop it or you get your camera (and if you reserved lenses, hence the et al)

et al is an abbreviation meaning everything else attributed to the first. I was using it to mean the lenses as well.

Once again, since you are new, I was trying to be helpful and welcoming, sorry if that was not much of an answer.

Bluestar, Excellent question!

Shawn, Where did you get the information on 30 days grace period?
Someone from RED? Californian law?

Cheers,
Dave
