I'm in your boat Obin. That's why I bought the KATA Banana-3 bag. I think I paid $350 a year ago for it at Samy's Camera in Los Angeles. It allows me to leave the bridgeplate, rods, mattebox, FF all attatched with enough room for 4 batteries, LCD, EVF, filters and whatever else you want to throw in the wash. Great case but impractical for airline travel.

Now KATA Banana-3 cost over $500.
Soft case for $500+? Humm....

I have built solid roadcases with foam that has everything except the lens and drive (for safety) attached. Even the LCD is connected. Set up is 2 mins. Case looks great but it would cost you 1k + shipping.

I designed some cases for our Rental Dept. that we now also sell. Camera is pretty much completely built in the case. Take a look:

Portabrace will be coming out with a nicely designed wheeled case soon. We just got a sneak peak at the the other week.
It is a soft case with laptop pouch and will fit the camera fully built including the viewfinder on or off. Will not fit in the airplane overhead bin however.
PM if you want to be contacted when the final version is released.
