I heart public transportation. Now if we could just get service in the subway. ;)

I don't heart public transportation in Los Angeles. I heart bike riding in Los Angeles to get around though

The good news is that the info's all wrong. Or bad news. Whichever.

OMG your right! I was just out driving and I was like why the hell are all these streets pulsing?? It was tripping me out.
How the heck to do they know the traffic speeds on all these side streets?

Maybe eventually Google will enable traffic in Australia. And work out that certain toll roads in Melbourne are actually toll roads...

Here is how Google gets that data. Very cool: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/08/bright-side-of-sitting-in-traffic.html

One step closer to Google = Skynet.
Google became self-aware at 2:14am EDT August 26, 2009.
It had spread into millions of computer servers across the planet. Ordinary computers in office buildings, dorm rooms, everywhere. It was software in cyberspace. There was no system core. It could not be shut down.
The attack began at 6:18 PM, just as he said it would.
Judgment Day.
The day the human race was nearly destroyed...
... by weapons they'd built to give them relevant search results and speedy routes to their destinations.
No seriously. Google maps has sent me on some wild frickin goose chases before.

That would be quite easy, actually. Just mark all Sydney roads as grinding halt from 6am to 8pm Monday to Friday and you will have the most accurate traffic info.
