Are there any real scaled choices from the full sensor size, or 4k sensor size. I heard 2k long ago, but then was removed. Now i'm hearing 1080, or 720 scaled from 4k.
If I were choosing 2k raw or 1080 scaled from 4k- wouldn't the 1080 look better if the 2k were merely windowed.
There are so many threads, it was hard keeping track

It's simply ak to anything.

Depends on what you mean by "look better."
In favor of scaled:
You get 35mm DOF characteristics.
Oversampling from 4K will look sharper and likely mean less noise.
In favor of windowed:
You're shooting RAW. You'll get a much more flexible image, and better dynamic range, which you'd lose when shooting RGB.
So it depends on the shooting situation, as well one's own personal taste, but my guess is that many people might end up concluding that at the end of the day, windowed RAW may actually look better for reasons of dynamic range, as nice as oversampling may be.

There is one other point about the scaling of 4k to 1080p:
You can probably get a better quality scaling/demosiacing in Redcine then in-camera. I think there will be different settings....
