I just got the impero yesterday after 3 month of waiting.
I installed birger mount and tried to pair impero.
But, the impero doesn't turn on. I tried both battery and wired style.
When I connect it with wire the impero doesn't turn on in the beginning.
After few minute it turns on with all the lights on and make ticking sound.
Then nothing I can do that's it. The BEI interface doesn't detect the impero at all. And now even lens information is now showing on the monitor.
I sent few messages to birger but haven't received reply yet.
I waited so long. But this is absolutely disappointing.
Can someone help me out with this?

Try going into setup then remote and unclicking the S4i switch. Might be good to click it on first then off. I'm on build 20.1.3 and have similar problems. It seems as though the lens data isn't communicating with the camera correctly. If I turn the S4i switch off, the Impero works but only via cable. When I disconnect I get the flashing lights and clicking and if I try to record I get an "Internal fault" error and the picture goes black.

i've had similar problems but they have settled down some since i changed out the batteries. be sure you have fresh batteries. the one included with the impero are cheap and might not have much life. also try a variety of lenses. some of my lenses work fine with low batteries and some do not. when they do not i get all lights flashing and beeping on the impero.
also remember to sync the impero with your mount by holding down the "i" button as you power up the impero. the sync light will light up and you should be synced from that point on even when you turn off the power.
after you sync, hold down the function+calibrate (slow calibration) buttons or just the calibrate button (fast calibrate) for the lens. my lens syncing doesn't seem to hold once i power off or change lenses. not sure if it should but it's no big deal.

Craig,
Thanks for the battery advice. I've been using Duracells but even when it's off it must drain them. As soon as I replaced them it worked without the cable. Do you know of any way to make the lens data work on build 20?

Thanks for your advices.
Now I got the lens info on the monitor (Thanks Champe) but impero is still dead.
I've tried new batteries but the problem is it doesn't turn on at all. No sync or other lights turn on. But it I waited few minutes with its cable connected, it turns on (takes random time everytime, sometimes doesn't turn on) the all light turns on with clicking sound but still no button is working. Is everyone using build 20.1.3 red cam?

When I have lens info on the monitor is when I have problems. If I uncheck the S4i switch I don't have lens data displayed on the monitor but the Impero works.

Dm it... The impero has to turn on at least so that I can at least try something to fix it.
It almost never turns on.

When you say it doesn't turn on do you mean that no lights come on when you
1) turn the power on with fresh batteries in wireless mode
and/or
2) plug the Impero lemo cable into the Birger mount?
If so then the Impero may be defective.
If lights come on then the Impero is on and something else isn't right. If that's the case then post then post what lenses you have tried.
Make sure the Birger mount is properly controlling the lens by testing the aperture buttons and focus button. Then turn on Impero while holding the I button down to make sure it's looking for the Birger mount and not the VF receiver. If you get a sync light and the F button is lit then press the Cal button on the top right of the Impero and see if it spins the focus. Only after all that goes right will you have control.

I just received the Impero and I am having the following problems which may just user error or lack of understanding. Is there a manual somewhere I am missing?
1.) I have been able to adjust the iris with the BEI software on the computer but now that the Impero is synced either with cable or wirelessly I can not open or close the lens either with the Impero or the buttons on the side of the Birger mount.
2.) The distance on the lens and the Lens data matches but measured distance is off more so on wider lenses the 85 is spot on, but that probably the back focus which i havent adjusted yet?
I noticed if I hit the Cal button on Impero the distances on the LCD readout are way off like 909'. However if I hold the calibrate button (the middle button) on the Birger they are somewhat accurate.
3.) The 85mm 1.8 is slighty jumpy, freezes like software with slow memory. However the 28mm 1.8, the 50mm 1.2, the 24-70, 70-200 and Tonika 11-16 all are glassy smooth. The tonika is too noisy for normal production.

That's the analysis of your problem. You could try to test it one by one until you figure it out.
