Hello,

I've had a 720p JVC GR-HD1 for 6 years. 3 years ago I sent it in for repairs to get a new sensor (~$600) because of 2 groups of 4 dead (hot) pixels. In the last year, I've picked up 2 groups of 2 dead pixels and 2 other single dead pixels. They are very annoying, seriously degrading some of the most beautiful and precious video I've ever shot.

I was wondering if any Red One users have picked up any dead pixels and what was the procedure, time, and cost to repair your camera?

I've been waiting to hear about this.

Is the JVC a CCD sensor?

Do CMOS cameras have this issue at all?

Never seen a dead pixel myself.

I think it works like this: in a sensor as large as the Mysterium, dead pixels will always happen, but the camera is programmed to detect them and use the neighboring pixels to patch it up, so it becomes impossible to notice.

I hope that is the case. I'd use a median filter.

You know there are plug-ins to help you with this?
